IN THE WORKS
JACKIE ROBINSON PARKWAY MAGNOLIA AVENUE BRIDGE
The Jackie Robinson Parkway/Magnolia Avenue bridge to City Island will be closed to through traffic from July 6 through July 27 while crews install a new water main. During the closure, access to City Island will be available via Orange Avenue. Signage will be posted, and motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling in the area.
UPCOMING
STORMWATER SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
To help keep the city’s stormwater system functioning efficiently, Utilities crews continue to perform maintenance throughout the city. To date this year, crews cleaned about 12.6 miles of stormwater pipes and inspected an additional about 1.2 miles using specialized camera equipment. They also maintained more than 60 miles of drainage ditches, cleaned 6,736 stormwater catch basins, and removed 2,897 cubic yards of debris from the city’s drainage system. This ongoing work helps improve water flow and reduce blockages.
ONGOING
ROAD RESURFACING & RESTORATION PROGRAM
The city has completed this year’s $4.8 million Citywide Road Resurfacing and Restoration Program, improving approximately 22 lane miles of streets. Staff has already begun developing the list of roadways for next year’s resurfacing program, which is expected to include the City Island parking lot and South Grandview Avenue from Harvey Avenue to International Speedway Boulevard.
