ON THE move WITH PARKS & RECREATION // Daisy Stocking Park, 555 Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Blvd.
MIDTOWN RECREATION COMPLEX PLAYGROUND AT CYPRESS PARK
Exciting progress is underway as new playground equipment for ages 2–12 and outdoor fitness features, including a decline bench, leg lift and flex wheel, have been installed just south of the Aquatic Center, bringing vibrant color and energy to the space. Drainage improvements are complete, and ribbon curbing around the playground and fitness area was completed at the end of December. The colorful pour-in-place surfacing is now in place, creating a smooth, safe play area. The next phase will include the installation of ADA- compliant sidewalks to provide improved access to the new playground. The park is nearing completion as the city prepares to open this exciting new community amenity. The city received a $375,028 grant from the Racing and Recreational Facilities District to upgrade the Midtown Recreation Complex Playground at Cypress Park, 985 George W. Engram Blvd., with a total project cost of $419,028, approved by the City Commission.
