MIDTOWN SUNDAYZ EXTENDED We’re excited to announce that Midtown Sundayz has been extended through the rest of the year. This community gathering takes place on the second Sunday of each month at Daisy Stocking Park, 555 Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Blvd., from 3 to 8 p.m. Upcoming dates include Oct. 12, Nov. 9, and Dec. 14. Each event features live DJ entertainment, delicious food available for purchase, board games and activities for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, friends and dancing shoes to enjoy an afternoon of fun in the heart of Midtown.

NEW SCHEDULE FOR COMPUTER CLASSES

Daytona Beach residents of all ages can take advantage of free computer classes offered at four of the city’s community centers. The program, designed to help participants use basic computer functions for everyday life, has released a new weekly schedule. Mondays 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. YSG Cultural & Educational Center 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Dickerson Community Center 5 to 7 p.m. Cherry Cultural & Educational Center Tuesdays 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dickerson Community Center 1 to 3 p.m. Schnebly Recreation Center 5 to 7 p.m. Dickerson Community Center Wednesdays 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. YSG Cultural & Educational Center Thursdays 9 to 11 a.m. Cherry Cultural & Educational Center 1 to 3 p.m. YSG Cultural & Educational Center 5 to 7 p.m. Cherry Cultural & Educational Center Fridays 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Schnebly Recreation Center 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. YSG Cultural & Educational Center

SPANISH CLASSES START THIS MONTH Free Spanish classes are starting back up this month at the Schnebly Recreation Center, 1101 N. Atlantic Ave. This program is designed for both youth and adults and welcomes all levels. Classes will be offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with sessions designed for different age groups. Adults can participate at either 5:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. all three days. Youth ages 8 to 12 will meet Mondays at 4:30 p.m. and youth ages 13 to 16 will have class Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. Led by a native Spanish teacher Johana Whitaker, the program helps students learn to read, write and speak Spanish properly while building confidence in real-life conversations.
