PRIORITIES SOUTH ATLANTIC EAST ISB & PENINSULA REDEVELOPMENT SITE (Planning Stage) Location: Southwest corner of E. International Speedway Blvd. and Peninsula Drive The city-owned 2.06-acre site, with potential expansion to 4.2 acres through adjacent parcel acquisition, is being considered for redevelopment. Potential uses include commercial (such as a grocery store, restaurants or tourist-oriented retail) and residential components. COMMERCIAL & RESIDENTIAL GRANT UTILIZATION INITIATIVE (Ongoing) Location: South Atlantic CRA The CRA will continue promoting commercial and residential grants through social media, community events and site visits to encourage participation. UTILITY BOX WRAPPING PROGRAM Location: South Atlantic CRA To reduce graffiti on utility boxes, the CRA will partner with Public Works to wrap all utility boxes within the area. Budget: $10,000 HOTEL DEVELOPMENT INCENTIVE PROGRAM (Proposed) Location: South Atlantic CRA The CRA will create an incentive program to attract new hotel development within the area. Amount: $500,000 (build-out contribution) Tax Abatement: Dependent on project details LAND ACQUISITION STRATEGY (Ongoing) Location: South Atlantic Redevelopment Area Land acquisition remains a key strategy for fostering sustainable development. Identified parcels may support future projects such as boutique hotels, mixed-use developments and commercial or residential projects.
