LAND ACQUISITION: Land acquisition is a key strategy for promoting sustainable development in redevelopment areas. It supports new developers and investors and is an allowable expense under Chapter 163, Part III and the Main Street Redevelopment Plan. Over the years, parcels have been identified for future acquisition and potential developments, including boutique hotels, mixed-use developments and commercial and residential projects.
TOWNHOMES DEVELOPMENT In 2023, the city purchased a 1.3-acre property consistent with the Main Street Master Plan goal of removing or rehabilitating blighted structures. The site is intended for townhome development.
