Born and raised in Daytona Beach, Keith Willis has been a cornerstone of the community for decades. A proud graduate of Seabreeze High School (Class of 1987), Willis began his career at the City of Daytona Beach Leisure Services department at just 14 years old, while still playing basketball. What started as a student worker role soon evolved into a lifelong career, as Willis was recognized for his dedication and work ethic. Over the years, he climbed the ranks from summer camp counselor to his current position as Director of Parks & Recreation. Willis’ leadership extends far beyond the office. Known affectionately as “Coach Keith,” he has made a lasting impact as a coach in the city’s Youth Basketball League. His passion for sports and mentorship has shaped the lives of many young people, offering guidance in education, employment, relationship building and family planning. His open-door policy for mentorship is a testament to his commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders.
Under Willis’ leadership, the Parks & Recreation Department has become synonymous with excellence, offering top-quality recreational programs for all ages.
